Bananaganda is an installation which is a commentary on the symbolic use of bananas in popular culture and how bananas have been used as a phallic, racist, and overly sexualized symbol.
The installation is in a room with three text-based projections on the walls which include facts and information about the images that are played on the televisions in the room. One TV is each corner of the room playing videos of bananas used in commercials, music videos, cartoons and educational videos. There are pairs of bananas in front of each TV watching themselves being used as symbols and means of propaganda. There is a single banana on the leash in the middle of the room; audience can take the banana for a walk and sympathize with it, ignore the banana on the floor, or simply eat the banana.
